How long does walk-in gasket replacement take?

Why is ice forming around my walk-in door?
Warm, humid air is leaking past the gasket, hitting cold surfaces and freezing. A worn door gasket or a failed door heater is the usual cause. Replacing the seal, and repairing the heater on freezer doors that have one, stops the ice at the source.
What temperature should a walk-in cooler hold?
Cold food storage must stay at 41°F or below to satisfy health code, so most operators run walk-in coolers at 35-38°F. Walk-in freezers should hold 0°F or lower. If your box cannot hold those numbers with the door shut, the seal is one of the first things to check.
Do I need a new door, or just a new gasket?
Usually just the gasket, and often a sweep or hinge adjustment. A full door replacement is a last resort for doors with rotted cores or crushed frames. We tell you honestly which one you need; most of the doors we see are saved with seals and hardware for a fraction of the cost.
